Add Value to Your Knowledge.
The Higher National Certificate (HNC) and Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business are highly regarded nationally recognised qualifications which can allow progression into a wide range of careers. Accredited by the SQA they offer progression into the world of business or to further study at degree level.
Structure and Content
These modular courses allow you to progress at your own pace, accruing credit for each HN unit successfully completed. In order to obtain the HNC students must obtain 12 credits and may progress to the HND by completing a further 18 credits.
The HNC and HND in Business are broad based business courses which aim to provide the core skills and competencies required by employers in today’s competitive employment market.
In the HNC you will study a wide variety of business subjects ensuring that you acquire the skills and theoretical knowledge required by business. These include: skills in analysing and presenting information, managing people and organisations, marketing and business strategy and planning.
The HND builds on these skills to include more advanced and specialist units. The HND builds on the HNC by developing skills in: advanced information and communications technology, human resource management, economics, marketing research, and developing personal effectiveness
Both the HNC and HND contain a “graded unit” assessment; designed to bring together all that you have achieved in the course and to demonstrate the breadth and depth and knowledge you have acquired.
