Are you ready for a practical, hands-on career with great potential rewards?

Plumbers enjoy a varied working life where no two appointments are ever the same, but these days you'll need more than tools and a blowtorch to join them – there are requirements for environmental awareness to learn, and health and safety regulations that must be adhered to before you get to grips with your first stuck stopcock.

Reliable plumbers are forever in demand and skilled people who work hard can make very good money. To make a success of a new career in plumbing, you'll need the information, skills and techniques in DCA's Introduction To Plumbing course. Complete the course and you will be ready to progress towards the Technical Certificate in Plumbing or NVQ Level 2 and 3*.

This comprehensive course covers all the above, along with the practicalities of today's hot and cold water systems, so you can avoid getting into deep water!

Course content includes:
Industry and qualifications overview
Health and safety
Effective working relationships
Key plumbing principles
Common plumbing processes
Cold-water supply
Hot-water supply
Central heating systems
Customer Care
Electrical systems
Environmental awareness

What you need to know:
Modern plumbing systems need a logical, hands-on approach more than any academic ability, but we recommend students have at least 4 GCSEs (including Maths and Science at grade C or above) if they are to gain the most benefit from the course.

*Please note that to progress towards these examinations further practical training and assessment must be taken at an accredited City & Guilds centre.
A big thank you for my study course which was very interesting and rewarding. — M.S.D.
The coursework is well planned out, the example given at the beginning helps when you reach the actual question. It makes it easier to understand as I had been briefed by the example. — G.C.
